AEDL-theory of caregiving (KROHWINKEL)

AEDL is the abbreviation of "Aktivitäten und existentielle Erfahrunngen des Lebens" = "activities and existential experiences of life".

There are 13 AEDLs:

  1. to maintain the vital functions of life
  2. to communicate
  3. to move
  4. to clean himself
  5. to eat and to drink
  6. to pass faeces
  7. to get dressed
  8. to rest and to sleep
  9. to be busy
  10. to feel as a man, as a woman
  11. to take care of a secure place
  12. to take care of social duties
  13. to deal with extential experiences

The AEDLs had been developped by Monika KROHWIHKEL. Guided by these AEDL a caregiver can check the problems and the resources of a needy person.
